I led the design team for Vancouver’s largest design hackathon, overseeing overall branding and website design. By developing a new brand identity, we expanded the influence of this newly established hackathon, reaching industry leaders such as Notion.

Background FLUI Hackathon helps foster an emerging, digital-enthusiastic, collaborative group of designers through a one-week design competition with workshops hosted by influential companies, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice.

Designing for FLUI isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about supporting the local design community by expanding its impact and recognition.
Every step counts. The design is inspired by LED lights, symbolizing digital technology, interaction design, and the infinite possibilities that can be built from a simple dots use this metaphor to encourage emerging artists to start design and creation that every step counts. Conclusion The creative and distinctive branding and website design establish an iconic representation of the local design community. The branding sets a strong and cohesive identity for the FLUI community, guiding the hackathon toward a clear future direction while allowing room for continued growth.
Results Attracting 28% More Participants

In 2025, FLUI Hackathon welcomed over 160 participants, achieving a 28% growth compared to the previous year following the launch of the new brand.
